In preparation of the upcoming meetings in 2020, I recently dove into the data of Cass Vector Control’s paper archive. As someone who started working in mosquito control before we had a website let alone laptops, tablets, and smartphones, it occurs to me now that the digital transition was me. Nonetheless, looking through these meticulous hand written notes, news clippings and perfectly spaced reports, I wonder if my SQL tables, clever json web tools, and formula filled spreadsheets will ever appear as useful and beautifully nostalgic as these long dead trees.
