West Nile Virus continues to be the largest mosquito illness threat to residents in Great Plains and Great Lakes regions of the United States.

In recent years other illnesses caused by mosquitoes have drawn huge media and public interest and WNV (West Nile Virus) has slipped slightly in the public eye. The threat level from WNV peaks and lulls but the consequences to some of those who are stricken by this illness remains.
